Human Vaccines has been renamed Human Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics!
Vaccine research and development has been extending its traditional reach beyond the prevention of bacterial or viral diseases. Besides therapeutic vaccines for viral diseases, there are also applications outside of infectious diseases for vaccines and immunotherapeutics based on antibodies, other proteins or nucleic acids – these approaches are targeted to diseases in diverse fields including cancer, autoimmunity, inflammation, allergy, Alzheimer’s and addiction. Many of these new vaccines and immunotherapeutics should become available within the next decade, with consequent benefit for human health.
In recognition of this extension in the scope of our field, our journal would like to attract more manuscripts in the areas of immunotherapeutics and non-ID vaccines while maintaining our focus in more traditional vaccines. Thus, we are renaming the journal Human Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics (HV&I).
